Opening Day Wednesday, February 8th, 2006
The show floor filled with excitement as the doors opened for the 18th annual Northwest Flower & Garden Show. Cyle Eldred, the Show Manager welcomed some special guests that have visited us every year. Up on the sixth floor, a school group was lucky enough to meet Ciscoe Morris and be included on his TV segment.
Opening Day Eve It’s the night before the big opening and it was final touch-up time. TV, radio and newspaper reporters were led by owner and founder Duane Kelly through the gardens on the press tour. All around them the clean-up crew swept away the excess dirt and water in preparation for the garden judging. The best of show winner was announced at the Arboretum’s ‘Love at First Sight’ Preview Gala. The grand prize winner is…Christianson’s Nursery. Congratulations to all!
