Sandra Dean
Sandra M. Dean is an artist and art educator who specializes in making the invisible structure of nature visible. Her work with this theme is found in private collections as well as in illustrations for environmental, technical and medical book publishers. She is the owner of Trees of Life, which features books, art prints, presentations, workshops and original art. She is the founder of and project director for Cambium Arts resources, an art and nature non-profit organization and she has taught art to both children and adults through the City of Seattle Parks Department, Lawton Elementary School and the Orcas Island Foundation. She is the author of Tree of Life (Trees of Life, 2004). She was featured in the May 2005 edition of Seattle Woman, and her garden was one of five gardens included in the 2003 Audubon publication Gardening for Life. She is also the program coordinator for the ‘Queen Anne Treewalk,’ an annual public arts event. Website – www.treesoflife.com

Garden sanctuaries restore the soul and remind us of our connection to seasonal cycles. This multimedia presentation combines music, poetry, stunning world art and creative gardens. It illustrates how the holistic ideas that inspired many nature-oriented artists can be incorporated into large or small ‘garden sanctuaries.’
