Ciscoe Morris
Ciscoe Morris began his gardening career at ten years old, when he harassed a priest at a neighborhood church into hiring him as a lawn boy. For 24 years he directed the Seattle University Gardening and Landscaping program. During his tenure, the University won several prestigious environmental awards including the Seattle Rotary Environmental Award and the EPA’s highest national environmental award. The nature-friendly gardening program he developed led Seattle University to be the only University campus in the State designated as a wildlife sanctuary by the State Department of Wildlife. In 2001 he was awarded the King County ‘Earth Hero Award.’ Ciscoe has been a WSU Master Gardener for more than 20 years. He is featured on KING5 TV, ‘Gardening with Ciscoe with Meeghan Black’, on KING5 ‘Morning News’ and ‘Noon News’and every Saturday on KING5. In addition, ‘Gardening with Ciscoe Live’ can be seen Friday nights on the Northwest Cable News Network. He makes regular appearances on the 'Gardening by the Yard' show on HGTV. His humorous and informational radio show, ‘Gardening with Ciscoe’, can be heard Saturdays on KIRO710. In addition, you can read Ciscoe’s ‘To Do’ column weekly in the Seattle P-I. Ciscoe’s home garden was featured in ‘Seattle Homes and Lifestyle’ in 1999. He writes articles for the Washington Park Arboretum Bulletin and several other local publications, and is on several horticultural advisory boards.
